Manchester United is bringing something fresh to Old Trafford—a brand-new Pop-Up Pub experience, opening its doors this weekend for the high-stakes season opener against Arsenal.
The huge 900-square metre marquee, set up in the W1 car park, will welcome up to 1,000 ticket-holding fans. Entry? Completely free. Doors open three hours before kick-off and stay open for an extra hour after the final whistle.
Inside, the vibe is all about community and energy:
Beer in under 10 seconds courtesy of Manchester-based brewer Shindigger 🍺
Food with flavour from city favourites Yard & Coop 🍗
Live music & entertainment to fire up the pre-match buzz 🎶
Appearances from United legends — starting with Denis Irwin this weekend 🙌
Surprise giveaways from brands like Estée Lauder and Cadbury 🎁
The club says it’s responding directly to fan feedback for more action and atmosphere around the stadium before games. If this trial run is a hit, fans could see the pop-up return for more matches and even influence plans for a permanent fan zone.

Antony Ultimatum Shakes Transfer Window 😳
While United is serving up pints outside, it’s all business inside the transfer department. Winger Antony has reportedly been given a clear-cut ultimatum:
> Accept a €30M–€40M offer this week — or prepare to sit in the stands until January.
Spanish side Real Betis are circling, preferring a late loan move, but United’s stance is firm—they want a permanent deal now, not another short-term exit.
It’s a bold move by the club, showing they’re unwilling to carry unsettled players into the busy first half of the season. For Antony, it’s a make-or-break week.

Donnarumma Rumours Quashed ❌
Elsewhere, talk of Gianluigi Donnarumma joining United has been shut down. Despite the PSG keeper being left out of their UEFA Super Cup squad against Tottenham, sources confirm United are not actively pursuing a goalkeeper this summer.
Manager Rúben Amorim is happy to stick with André Onana as his No. 1 — and all focus remains on strengthening outfield positions.
Manchester City, however, is reported to be exploring a potential €30M bid for Donnarumma, though PSG are holding firm on a €50M valuation. No serious movement yet.

Squad Decisions & Striker Situation 🔄
With Rasmus Højlund’s departure edging closer, United has no current plans to loan out Chido Obi despite his limited minutes. The expectation is for the young striker to stay and fight for opportunities.
Meanwhile, the club has also decided not to move for Everton’s free-agent striker, who is still weighing up a move to Leeds before the window closes.
