Speaking on a podcast alongside Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka, hosted by media personality VJ Adams, Boniface was asked where he would go if given a “blank cheque” to join any club. While Real Madrid was initially mentioned, the Bayer Leverkusen forward quickly leaned towards staying in Lagos — even joking about playing for MFM Football Club.
> “For me, no place like home,” Boniface said. “I like coming back home, not like I forget home. When I’m there [in Europe], I come and go back, but I don’t stay too long. I miss everything about home — the food, the lifestyle, family, friends.”
Boniface went on to say that Europe, despite its benefits, can sometimes feel “boring” compared to Nigeria’s rich culture, warmth, and energetic lifestyle.
The conversation sparked laughter among the group, as they joked about what a “blank cheque” could mean for his career. But Boniface stood firm — even limitless football options wouldn’t take away his love for home.
